Barrack Nobama shares my affliction.

This explains it all I was wondering all along if this was the case. It has to be true, it's on you tube.

You wondering what I've been up to?

image  On 6/11 I had played 739 games I was at 33% of the games won. Now a little over a month later I'm up to 38%. And I've played 2218 games. Aren't I really making something of myself? Are there any hiring managers reading this that need a professional Hearts player?

Some news. My Daughter Adrianne is 10 weeks out from her due date and is in the hospital with some complications. She has Preeclampsia. Her blood pressure is elevated. They have for sure taken her out of work, which bums her out. And for sure she will be on total bed rest, Either in the hospital or at home. She is in the hospital that she works at as a nurse and they have a very good Neo Natal department. There hoping to get here to go as long as possible before they have to take the baby.

Our niece Grecthen graduates from Naval basic training this weekend. The next phase of her training takes her down to Florida. Her dad and Sherri went out to Chicago for the Graduation.

That's about it. My leg still bothers me and so does my back. I thought I was going into a Manic stage but the last couple of days I've been really down so I guess it was a false alarm. I sure felt good for a couple of days though.

My buddy Shawn just had his first of two hip replacement surgeries. He couldn't go to breakfast last Saturday, but he is returning to fray tomorrow morning. He's getting around better on his crutches .

My sister Donna must have me on ignore. I haven't heard from her in forever. I assume she's still alive. Well back to the hearts game.

Justa little update.

I've played well over 1000 games of hearts the last two weeks. I think it's to the obsession level. What do you think? We're getting hit by rain pretty good right now. We had a little open window yesterday where it didn't rain so we mowed the yard. I'm glad we did even though it was a day or so before it needed it, it's going to rain for the next two days pretty hard and the grass would be to deep if we waited. Not much different going on. I'm starting to write a journal of my thoughts and feelings on a daily basis on a word document. My social worker Len says it's necessary for a Disability filing so we shall see how that goes.

039 Here's a picture of Grandma Cindy with Brandon reading to her. Not bad at 8 months old huh?  We get to go over to Brandon's house  for dinner tomorrow for Fathers day. We stopped by for a few minutes today. It had been two weeks since we had seen him. He has learned a lot in two weeks. They grow so fast.

I got my 97 Dodge Intrepid inspected today. Nothing wrong at all. That's the first time in 2 or 3 years that it didn't cost us big bucks. The cars got 138,000 and really doesn't owe me anything. In a week and a half Cindy and I are going camping in a cabin at Alleghany State park in Southwest New York State for her family reunion on the fourth of July.

I'm sure I'm leaving things out. Just wanted to say hey. I notice  some of you guys stop by all the time. Thanks for stopping by. We'll be in touch.

Back from the tour.

003

This is what I've been up to instead of blogging. When I got back in town from touring with the Clydesdales{ I mean the Chippendales} I decided to change things up some. Instead of blogging I've been playing hearts on the computer. As you can see from my games played count I've been playing quite a bit. I only win about 1 out of every 3. I guess that ain't to bad considering I'm playing against the computer.

I've been checking in with your blogs from time to time but just haven't felt like posting. I went to the Pysch Dr. today with Cindy. The long and short of it is that he is supporting the idea of me going on Disability what with the Physical stuff and the Mental stuff added in. Momma and I have been working on the paper work. My back is getting worse and my left knee clicks a lot when I walk.

I'm just trying to wrap my mind around this as I'm used to working every day. Although you wouldn't know it by the last 2 plus years.

The next big thing coming up for Cindy and I will be Cindy's family reunion down at Allegany State Park in South west New York. We used to camp in a pop us camper. We gave that to Jeff and Amanda last year as Cindy and I were'nt getting much use out of it. This year we are renting a cabin at the park for Thurs thru Sat. It's about a mile from where everyone camps but maybe that's a good thing.

I'll leave it here. I'll try to post more often. No promised though. I hope all is well with everyone.

Let the good times roll

100_3007_edited 100_3012 Can you believe he's only 9 months old? Look how much he's getting around already. The kids were over Sunday for Dinner and these are just a couple of the action photo's of Brandon. He crawls  around pretty good and can stand up on his own when he pulls on something. He and Indy get along very well. Here they are kissing.

I figured I better get that picture of me in my last post off the front page.It was one of my busiest post for commenting though. Lol!!

Things are going pretty good. Momma and I have been busy around here the last few weekends. Cindy and I trimmed the bushes on the property line. Cindy did the trimming and I mowed up and mulched the leftovers. We have the place looking pretty good right now if I don't say so my self. It's frustrating how limited I am. I'm able to do some work though, I just have to take breaks every 5 or 10 minutes or so. My back is really pinching a lot after 5 mins. {Insert violin music here}

100_2983

We had the drive way done Thursday. This is a picture of it done just as they were finishing up and getting ready to leave with the equipment. We we're first able to park on it late Saturday night. It makes a real big difference. It really draws the property out.

100_2982

In the second picture here you can see the bushes on the right. This is before we trimmed them.

Maybe a better picture of the bushes is in this third picture. Notice that pile of dirt. Momma and I had to spread that along the side of the driveway after they we're done. That was really tough work. Some major pain but we're both pretty strong willed so we "got er done".

100_2981

And I'll show you the final picture of the driveway. Can you tell we like it yet? This was taken at night so we could show the driveway lights it's kind of a neat picture. It's the finished product and was well worth all the work and money we put into it.

100_2988_edited

See after all those pictures don't you wish I'd stayed out on tour with the Chippendales? Oh wait I do have to show you one more picture. I would put some of the garden up but I want to save some pictures for Cindy to use on here blog. This last picture is one I had to show you of the "Lime Green Drama Queen". Apparently she has developed a new method of catching a Softball when some one throws it to you. I recommend using a glove but...

100_2992

A lot has happened lately. I'm still in a funk of sorts but I'll try to post more than I have been. Thanks for sticking with me guys. More later.

I'm almost back from vacation!!

image Many of you have wondered where I have been lately. Well my weight loss has gone very well. I've been touring the country with the Chippendales. I now have a fondness for dollar bills. I was able to go to the library and post this real quick. Time to go we go on stage in 10 minutes. I'll try to post again soon.

IT'S A GIRL

I've come off of Hiatus to make a great announcement . My daughter Adrianne found out the sex of her baby. It's going to be GIRL. Cindy and I will be grandparents for the second time in a year. One boy, Brandon, and one girl to be named later. I'm returning back to my vacation I'll be back later.

This photo was taken after one of Stephany's walks. Koda sent it to Indy via  email attachment. That walking really looks like it is helping your legs Stephany.

Hey Comrade Oblah-blah, how are you liking the "change". It isn't so easy when you have the media finally question something you do is it?  Just wait until they get the taste of the Kool Aid out of their mouths. They will find out what the rest of us already knew. You just ain't got a clue. Heck even Momma on her blog is beating up the Messiah. She doesn't get to political as a rule so you must really be making her mad.

My Yankees are on a roll. They just won their 5th game in a row. They won it tonight with a hit in the bottom of the 9th with bases loaded. {Sweet}

Momma's going to till her garden Sunday. We have some friends of her's coming over for a little cook out and Her and Barb are going to till the garden. It's only going to be about a 12 by 12. That will be nice getting fresh tomato's just by going outside. She's also going to have Zucchini, summer squash, pumpkin, sunflower and some snap peas. Heck if we can get a couple of pigs and some moo cows we'll be all set.

Ah I forgot. Besides our Saturday morning breakfast with Shawn and Pat we're going to Cindy's brother Tom's house for a cook out to help send Tom's daughter Gretchen on her way into the Navy. I think she leaves Monday. She's going to be in for a culture shock. It will be good for her though.

I'm justa wondering?

Farmer Joe decided his injuries from his recent accident were serious enough to take the trucking company responsible for the accident to court.

In court, the trucking company’s fancy lawyer was questioning farmer Joe.
“Didn’t you say, at the scene of the accident, that you were fine?”

“Well, I’ll tell you what happened. I had just loaded my favorite mule Bessie into the–”

“I didn’t ask for any details,” the lawyer interrupted. “Just answer the question. Did you not say, at the scene of the accident, that you were fine?”

“Well I had just got Bessie into the trailer and was driving down the road–”

“Judge, I am trying to establish the fact that, at the scene of the accident, this man told the Highway Patrolman on the scene that he was just fine.

Now several weeks after the accident he is trying to sue my client. I believe he is a fraud. Please tell him to simply answer the question.”

By this time the Judge was fairly interested in Farmer Joe’s answer and told the lawyer so.

“Well,” said the farmer, “as I was saying, I had just loaded Bessie, my favorite mule, into the trailer and was driving her down the highway when this huge semi-truck and trailer ran the stop sign and smacked my truck right in the side.

I was thrown into one ditch and Bessie was thrown into the other. I was hurting real bad and didn’t want to move.

However, I could hear ol’ Bessie moaning and groaning. I knew she was in terrible shape just by her groans.

Shortly after the accident a Highway Patrolman came on the scene. He could hear Bessie moaning and groaning so he went over to her. After he looked at her he took out his gun and shot her between the eyes.

Then the Patrolman came across the road with his gun in his hand and looked at me.

He said, “Your mule was in such bad shape I had to shoot her. How are you feeling?”

So Stephany,Precious, Ladyjane, and Ana. How are you feeling?

Justa nother normal day in paradise!!

image This is a picture of some guy delivering gas to a gas station. It's not me. But it's exactly what I used to do when I got hurt two years ago. Hauling those hoses around to hook and unhook them is a lot of work. It was a good workout and I had lost about 50lbs when I worked there. One hose is for venting and the other one unloads the gas. Picture having four hoses hooked up that's what we used on a lot of the stops we did. I really wish I could still do this as I was getting in pretty good shape after only four months and the money was great. But..........

I've called a Workman's Compensation counselor that my social worker suggested, he suggested I contact Vesid.  He said he would mail me an application packet. I'm waiting for that to get here. Hopefully they can give me an aptitude test and direct me into a field of study that would fit me. I'm a cranky ole obstinate bastard but I don't think that transfers into today's job market.{Well maybe it does. I could do a early evening show on MSNBC}

Momma. Aka Cindy is quite the trouble maker. Check out her blog post from today here. It's kind of ridiculous but whatever... This publisher had nothing better to do than to pick on Cindy. Cindy responded much kinder than I would have. I would have words like "ass and "hole" in my response.

As you can see I just ain't got much going on in my life right now do I? Ok I did take Momma's car to Ziebart today to get an estimate on some scratch repairs and undercoating. While switching cars where she works we went to lunch. I made out pretty good. Cindy bought and I got to keep the change. Sweeet. I've got some pretty bad oxidizing going on with the paint job on my car so I may see if they can rub that out too. My car is a 1997 Dodge Intrepid with about 130,000 miles on it so I don't want to spend any money on a paint job but if Ziebart can get the oxidation out that would be good.

No news on what sex Josh and Adrianne's baby is yet. That info should come in a couple of weeks. I'll post it when I find out. Cindy had a cousin out in Michigan just give birth to twins. Just what Michigan needs a couple more people that will be looking for work. Steve {of Steve and Donna fame} is doing great after his colon surgery. Much better than they expected of him.

Tomorrow I hope to mow the lawn after dropping Cindy's car off at Ziebart. It really grows fast this time of year. I'm going to close with a whine. The Yankees are stinking up the joint. They lost again tonight.

Happy Mothers Day!!!

It's your special day Moms. Enjoy. It's 05:45 as I start this post. I've already called my mom. She's an early riser and I wanted to get her before she goes out gallivanting. She's 74 years old and is more active than I am. Little aches and pains are creeping up on her but she still manages to get out and walk a little every day.

Momma's still in bed sleeping. We went to bed last night at 10:00 pm. Cindy had a rough day at work this week and we closed it out with a trip to the zoo with the Lime Green Drama Queen yesterday. Here's a few pics from our foray.

100_2807 This is a couple wild Penguins that were wandering around the park loose. They look pretty friendly and an awful lot like Cindy and Courtney.

100_2865Here's Courtney chasing other kids away from the Monkey bars.

100_2860 And a final picture of The Lime Green Drama Queen carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. As you can tell she's pretty camera shy. Not!!

100_2793 Ok,you wanted proof that I was there. Here's a picture of me resting a bit after we had walked all the way around the whole zoo. It had to be at least 1/2 mile around that whole thing. Let's just say I used a lot of the benches to get around it.

Pizza Hut!!

“Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving
safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in
sideways, champagne in one hand - strawberries in the other, body
thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “Holy Shit - What a Ride!”

- Mavis Leyrer of Seattle, age 83

I found this quote on a blog I happened across.Wendy on the Web, She has it in her about me page on the bottom. I used to have this attitude when I was younger. Maybe I need to go back to it? Heck my body is half tore up now. I'm almost there. Now I just need the attitude.

Got the call from Adrianne on Monday night. They couldn't tell the sex of the baby yet because it's legs we're crossed and the baby just wasn't going to uncross them. I think it must be a girl. Girls are really stubborn. Adrianne was stubborn when she was younger. Nothing wrong with that really. It's what got her through a lot. I'm really proud of everything she has accomplished.

Remember I was telling how our niece Gretchen was going  to go into the Navy in August? Well it's been moved up. She has to report the 18th of this month now. Tom & Sherri are having a cook out for her on the 16th. They always put on a good grog. I'll have to save some calories for that day. I think she's going to go in for Electronics or something along those lines.

Don't tell anybody but momma and I went to Pizza Hut tonight. We both got a sandwich. I had cheese and steak and Cindy had Chicken Parmesan. I went with the idea of getting stuffed crust Pizza. So we looked at the menu and did the "I don't know what do you wants". So instead of the Pizza {that I was dying for} We each got a bowl of Broccoli and Cheese soup. I think we thought we were getting a cup and she brought bowls. $4.49 each later. Long story short,we spent $29.10 plus tip. That was our second time going out to dinner for the week. It's so tough to say no to yourself isn't it? Well maybe some of you are better at it then me.

Cindy came up with a new name for our Comrade Ele Presedonta. She calls him Oblahblah. I think that's rather appropriate. Ever day he's on the TV. Blah,Blah,Blah. He is in constant campaign mode. Some one needs to tell him he won the election he can stop running. My head is going to explode we're going to have 8 years of this. Oh yes 8 years, the Republicans are falling all over themselves stammering and spitting like a bunch of lunatics. They are making it very easy for the Oblahblah machine. They didn't do squat when they had the power. Now they don't have any ideas either. See I'm an equal opportunity basher.

We{Cindy} sent a Hershey Kiss arrangement via of Proflowers.com to my mother for Mommy's day. She should get them Thursday. Don't forget to get your Mom's something. Mothers day is on Sunday.image

Meandering Monday.

It's 7:45 Monday night as I start typing this post. I was sort of waiting to type this until I heard from my daughter about if she is having a boy or girl. No call yet. We had 4 of 6 numbers in the last lotto drawing here in Ny. That won us a whopping $20.00. It's a start. It's the most we've ever won playing Lotto. Our previous best was $1.00. I figure we're not going to win if we don't buy a ticket. Don't worry If we win I'll take care of my blogging buddies. It will be like your in the witness protection program. I'll say Stan who? Stephany who? Precious who? Ana who? {Laughing} Nah I tell you what... if we win I'll take ya all out to dinner. Limit 1 happy meal each.

I went to my Chiro today. The only problem with that, I was a week early. Here I am sitting in the waiting room 15 minutes before my appt. Dave {the Chiro} sticks his head out from around the corner and tell me that he has me down for next Monday. I waddle over to the window and pick out my card with the appointment time on it to show him the error of his ways. Hmmmm. It appears the dates on the card did indeed coincide with the same date as "next" Monday. My bad... I told him thanks for telling me. I said "at least you didn't leave me sitting out there till next Monday". So I shall try again next week.

010 Here's a flower for Stephany. This is one that has started growing in our Garden at the sign. It's a Marigold. But I know how much you like flowers.

014

The weekend didn't turn out so great sports wise after all. Tiger couldn't get it going enough to really challenge for the lead and the Yankee game got rained out on Sunday. We did sneak over to see Brandon so that was a good thing. We broke from the norm a bit and went out to dinner on Sunday night about 8:30 pm. That was nice for a change. Just the two of us thereas the place closes at 9:00. We left about 5 after 9 Momma got a doggy bag to finish it at home. Well it's 11:05 pm as I finish this up. The Yankees are losing 4-0 to Boston in the 5th inning and Castle is over on the TV. Momma's going to show me how to clean the disk on this computer so have a good one. I'll update on Adrianne when she lets me know.

Mmmmmmm Good

image  That's right this desert was Mmmmm good. Cindy and I stopped over to her Brother Tom's and his wife Sherrri's house for dinner last night. We had Sausage Burgers and Hot dogs off the grill,a kick ass salad that momma made and some Macaroni and cheese. Delicious meal and then some. Sherri topped it off with this Chocolate cake with Strawberries. Look at the presentation on this thing. Look out Julia Childs.

Gretchen stopped by just before we left. She's Tom daughter and is getting ready to go into the Navy. She leaves in August for Chicago. I think it's a great idea. The service really makes you grow up and she'll get to see and do things she never would have other wise. The country will be a safer place because of her.{ Well at least the local roads will be anyway} Congratulations Gretchen. There is no greater honor than serving your country.

I talked to my daughter Adrianne yesterday. She hasn't thrown up and died the last two weeks but she is still getting nauseous. She has a good attitude though she just keeps plugging along. If it was me I'd be in traction in the Hospital with a private duty Nurse. {Hmmm. maybe I'll get pregnant, instead of just looking like I am} Josh and Adrianne find out Monday if the baby is a girl or a boy. I'll update as soon as I find out of course.

I can set aside the paper bag I've been wearing when watching the Yankee games on TV. At least for now anyway. They are on a three game winning streak. The Cheater {A-Roid} will be coming back in about two weeks. If he does much at all with the bat that will help some. Just keep the needles away from him. I'm a happy camper sports wise right now. The Yankees are winning, Tiger and Phil are 1 and 2 in the golf tourney. It's setting up to be a good weekend in sports.

The Swine flu is starting to show signs of letting up in Mexico. So pretty soon the drive by Media will have to start getting their "kiss the Messiah's ass" pen's back out. It should be illegal to have so many Media outlets running constant "free" campaign and propaganda sessions in prime TV. The dummying down of America is in a full court press right now. They are trying to hint that the economy is starting to show signs of improvement. All that means is they haven't gotten laid off yet. It has to get much worse before it's going to get better. They can bail out the car companies all they want. No one is going to buy any cars in great numbers as long as they are worried about their jobs. They would have been better off economically if they had just given everyone between the ages of 21 and 65 in the country 1 million dollars and said "have at it folks". Oh well.

Today is jean day for Cindy at work. If you want to make her happy. Have Jean day at work and Pot pie night and she's good to go. I hope everyone of you {even you Stan} have a good weekend. I'm riding an up wave right now. Heck maybe I'm heading into a Manic stage. Hang on folks.

Indy and I and the special Meat sauce

image Ok, Cindy and I went out and fixed the mess I made of the yard Sunday afternoon. I mowed the whole yard again this time with it set on 3". It looks pretty good now. Cindy took some pictures that I'll put up at another time. Right now though I'm going to give out the secret recipe for Momma's meat sauce that Stephany said she wanted. It's not real hard to make. I'm not kidding it is to die for. Put it on your hot dogs just a touch of mustard if your so inclined and Ummmmm. Ummmmmm.

2 lb ground beef-Crumble into really small pieces as it is getting brown.

1T cummin

1t salt

2t paprika

2t chili powder

1t all spice

4C water

1C chopped onions

Simmer covered for 11/2 to 2 hrs in an electric frying pan with the lid on. Or 4 or 5 hours in electric stove,in a covered skillet.

Ok that's my Betty Crocker moment. I took Cindy to the eye doc like I said in yesterday's post. Every thing went well. They didn't have to dilate her eyes and she has to stop taking one of her eye drop meds. It's always good when you can get rid of a med right? Have any of you clicked on the different language gadget on the side bar? I did the other day. I think this blog is best read in Chinese. It makes more sense.

Since Cindy has the rest of the day off we're going to go to Subway and get a sub and go to the Pavilion that is near the lake which is about 6 miles from the house and have a picnic. That's the lazy mans way to go on a picnic. We go to go to Wally world and get a new cover for the Grill. Haven't heard from my daughter Adrianne in a while. She's doing the Dad who routine? If you happen across this Adrianne give me a call.I think I have the winning ticket in tonight's Mega Million drawing. {That ought to get a phone call}

100_2631 This is me and Indy getting some time on the bench in the front yard. Both him and I need to lose some weight huh? On that front I'm back down to my start weight. Now I just have to keep the trend going towards losing the weight. I don't doubt that I can do it. It's just going to take more time than I want to with not being able to work out. I have the rest of my life so there's no hurry right?

Congratulations Stan!!

image  It must be true it's in print.

It's official I'm looking for a paper bag to put over my head when I watch a Yankee game. We just lost to Detroit 4-2, after getting swept by the Boston Red Sox over the weekend. I'm not going to be a fair weather fan and quit on them yet but...

Cindy and I mowed the yard Sunday afternoon after Jeff & Amanda & Brandon left. I really messed up pretty bad. I cut it at 11/2 inches instead of the 3 inches I should have cut it at. We have big piles of grass shavings all over the yard. We {Ok I} waited to long to cut it also. It probably should have been cut a few days ago. It's just that we got a lot of rain the other day and it really grew like crazy. It doesn't help that we got some Arizona weather Yesterday and today too. Today it hit 91 degrees here.

Not much else going on really. Tomorrow Cindy is taking off work to go to the eye doctors. I have to drive her over as she's not quite sure what they're going to do. She has some Glaucoma issues and may need to do something like Dilate the eyes.

I went to the Chiro yesterday. As normal my left leg was shorter  than my right. He did his normal yank and jerk and away I went. It's so frustrating. I'm starting to reverse the gain the weight trend I've been on the last week or so. I'm not eating just because I'm bored now. Cindy is on Weight Watchers at work and I'm sort of following along at home. I can feel a difference already. Hey Stephany Cindy made that meat sauce that I drove two hours south of here to get last time. It's as good if not better than the stuff I got. We have about 5 or 6 more servings of it left.

Watched Dancing with the Stars tonight. We like that show for some reason. Stan ought to have fun with this one.I'm in finishing up this post and going to watch Castle. That shows pretty interesting too. Don't hang out with anyone coughing and we'll catch you later.

Because You came by today.

image   Ok so this is what it looks like when you hit a game winning home run in the bottom of the 11th to beat my team. Yeah the Yankees left 18 runners in scoring position last night. We {as if I was on the team} blew it last night. Not only did we lose the game. We lost it in style, blowing a two run lead in the bottom of the 9th. I hate when that happens. It's a long season but things are not stacking up to well with us so far. Some injuries are starting to rear their ugly heads. Enough about the Yankees. I know you don't come to this blog to get your sports scores. Why do you come to this blog anyway? Why do I even blog? Hmmm. These are questions that I ask myself everyday. I average about 12 readers a day. Many of you come back quite often and check in on me. I really do appreciate it. Yet at the same time I feel a responsibility to try to come up with some worthwhile content to read. It's kind of tough when all I can do is hang around the house. I keep coming back hoping for an epiphany.

I thought I'd share with you some of the sites I go on,on pretty much on a daily basis. Some of them may not surprise you. These are RSS feeds that I signed up to to be notified when they post or ones I've just stumbled upon and liked. One of the ones that I like to read the most along with the comments is Trucker James. I think I like it because I can remind myself why I'm glad I'm not on the road every day.

Another one I like to read just because is, The Poor Farm I don't know why I like this one I just do. Maybe it's because he attacks Barrack Nobama. No wait dammit. It isn't attacking if it's true. Maybe it's just because he has an interesting way at looking at things.

The last one I'll send you over to read if your so inclined is The Simple Dollar in the Header on his blog it says "Financial talk for the rest of us". He has over 58,000 people that subscribe to his blog. Every post usually has some good advice in it.

As I finish typing this the Yankees and Redsox are playing again. We{there I go with that we again} we're leading 6-0 at one point it's now the top of the 8th and the Redsox are leading 12-10. Yuck

100_2683 I'll close with this picture that Momma took of the Sign she worked on today. She put four bags of mulch down and some Pansies {that we named Stanley} for obvious reasons. Some Merigolds and some tulips. Look at that big ass lawn I'm going to have to mow soon. See that door on the side of the house? We're thinking of putting a deck on the side of it that would run around to the back where there is a sliding door.

Busy Day!

Stan wasn't to happy when he found out I outed him and Harry Reid. Let's just say he was Green with envy. I'm still recuperating at an undisclosed location from the malicious and unfounded attacks from him in his last few post. Just to show Iimage      don't harbor any ill will towards him notice the picture of me making a speech on his behalf. I don't often dress up as I'm not comfortable in a suit and tie. This picture of me was addressing the home owner association at the park he lives in. You'll notice I'm exhorting the crowd here not to take Stan seriously. He really can't help himself. I think I've talked them into not kicking him out for now. His rent is going to go up though, from $10.00 a month up to $20.00 as they have to pay people to come in and clean up the bottles he throws around. Stan if you read this. This is the last time I can fly out to the left coast and bail you out. Your on your own after this buddy.

Today was a busy day for me. I had to meet the Workmans compensation insurance rep. He had about 4 or 5 jobs that he pulled up from various computer sites. He wants me to check them out. They are everything from dispatching to being an Instructor for Tractor Trailer students at Boce's in Oswego county. I'll chase down some of the leads tomorrow and see if any of them pan out. I'd really much rather go to Vesd, which is a place where I can retrain for something else. I also got to see my Chiropractor today. He had to do an extra adjustment on me today.Because I had a spasm farther up my back. My legs were even before he did the adjustment. After he did it my left leg was shorter again so he did the normal adjustment so now I'm back in line for now. After that I had to go out and see my Social worker Len. We had a nice discussion about some direction I can take. It requires me to step out of the comfort zone I've been in. It's not as if this has been real comfortable. The Wellbutrin in keeping me just this side of being really depressed. I think another thing keeping me going is looking over my shoulder for Stan's next barrage. I've noticed a white van going by the house really slow lately. It's probably Stan and the Penguins looking for another shot like This .

How about those Ny Yankees. They played a 14 inning game tonight and won in the bottom of the 14th with a walk off two run homer. They next play on Friday in Boston. Speaking of good weather by Friday and Saturday here in Central New York it's supposed to get up to 80. It's about time. That means I'll have to probably mow this weekend  because the grass is growing pretty quick.

I have Normal blogging buddies too!

I have been humbled beyond belief. No not by Stan. Although you have to go to his latest post. He has gotten me very good this time. Let's just say that he has way to much time on his hands. No, I have been humbled by one of the best blogs out there on a day to day basis of what it's like to be a husband and wife out trucking on the big roads. Diane over at Head Carolina Tails California has mentioned this little ole blog on hers. It has caused me to question her sanity but that's neither here or there. Her content is always very interesting and upbeat and looking at the shall we say "less than optimum" situations in trucking in a positive light. Her and Craig's blog is a must read for me every day. The pictures she shares are like being there

She also links to another one that I have to read everyday Tales from the road by the Fenian Godfather he can't be all bad, he is after all a Notre Dame football fan. His take on trucking is the way to approach the business. He has a sarcasm that is very easy to digest.   He also tackles the day to day of trucking in a very humorous and even tempered way.  In fact all the links on my sidebar are a very good read and will give you a pretty good picture of what it's like on the road.

I'm going to leave it at this today. I'm giving Stan the day off.

My Friend Stan.

image I've gotten numerous emails from people wanting to see a picture of Stan. This is one that we got from the surveillance photo's taken as Stan gets ready to go back inside to do a post. I believe this is one that shows him talking to Harry Reid. Stan is a professional at diversionary tactics and is very good at deflecting attention from himself to others.{An example of this is these pictures. He is trying to represent them as someone elses when in fact they are of him} He is considered to be harmless though. His neighbors as seen in the photo below tells us that he can often be heard long into the night shouting out "I feel Pretty" as he tosses his bottles of empty  Boones Farm Apple wine out his front door. It turns out that this picture is not of Stan at his own trailer but is in fact the one that Nancy Pelosi and he share on weekends.Stans trailer that Him and Harry Reid share is the one on the Far Left. In fact it seems that everything that Stan does comes from the Far left. I expect any day now to have him announce on his blog that he has joined the Nobama administration. I believe he's up for a position as the Czar of Bazaar. He has my vote.

On a serious note for a minute. Stephany has a post on big Pharma playing their games again. It's amazing how she is able to keep up on these guys. She is very good at finding these articles. You can check out her post Here. She is constantly being monitored by these guys and continues to attack. It's amazing the power you have when you use the truth as your guide.

Now back to Stan. Naw, never mind. I'll save more for later. You can be sure that he will come back at me with guns a roaring over this exposure. I wasn't going to post these pictures of Stan but I found it necessary after checking out his recent attack on me. It can be found at that left leaning rag authored by the one and only Stan.

Speaking of the Ny York Yankees. I proved once again I am a fair weather fan. Yesterday I gave up on them when they we're down 3-1 in the 5th inning or so. Actually I kept falling asleep in the recliner,so I turned off the tv and went in for a nap that turned into about a 3 hour snooze. The by product of that is I'm up this morning at 3:30 finishing up this post.

My Sunday musings.

I was watching the Yankee game on Saturday. I gave up on them when it was 20-2 Cleveland leading in the 5th. I'll try watching the game on Sunday. The ball seems to just fly out of the New Yankee stadium. All you have to do is get it up in the air in right field and it's a home run.

Some of you may have noticed Stan from Somethings not quite right with Stan fame is on my sidebar again. He has finally started writing some content that is worth reading. Not that the Mental health field isn't worth reading but their are those that do it better. His babbling and incoherent ramblings are best left to the write about nothing genre of which I'm an expert in myself. His expertise is in going on other peoples blogs and leaving long rambling comments where no two thoughts make sense. Welcome back Stan.

Momma put two spot lights that are charged by the sun out in the flower garden that has the sign to our little community here. I may have told you in a previous post that we have sort of adopted taking care of the sign. Indy & I took a little walk around the yard tonight and checked the lights out. They look pretty good. That's another thing I'll have to take a picture of.{Notice when I say I when work is involved,  I means Cindy} We did our clean up the yard from winter stuff today. Cindy had to do a lot of the bull work because of my on going problems with my leg and hip. I was able to help some though. I drained the gas in the snow blower and put it away for the summer and got the riding mower ready for the season. I  might have to mow in the next week or so, the way the grass is growing.

I'm out of the Meat sauce for Hot dogs that I got at M&M Hot's in Elmira, Ny. last time I went down to see my mother. My mother doesn't read this blog so maybe I can sneak in on her in the next week or so. It's a 4 hour round trip so I don't get down there much.

I'm going to end my post today with some full discloser. On the weight loss front I have gained 4 lbs from the 292 that I started at. This should tell you where I am mentally right now. My gung ho attitude of going to the gym is gone. The physical limitations are just more than I can deal with. They're not in my head they are real and it really has me down. I'm sitting around and eating with no physical activity it doesn't take much to see where that is headed does it? I'm just not sure what to do to turn it around. I'm getting all kinds of advice from those that care about me. It just isn't getting to me. I'm not one to quit but it sure feels like that Is what I'm doing on this one.

I'm justa sayin!

Ok,we've had this Tea party,Now what? Let's take it to the voting booth next time. Vote out every{as in EVERY} one of the incumbents. I don't care what good you've thought they've done. Let's send a real message to Washington. It's time we stepped up to the plate and made them listen. There. That is my political rant for the day. That didn't hurt a bit did it?

Speaking of not hurting a bit. I got the report back from the 2nd opinion of the Chiro in my Chiro's office. Besides saying in it that I was moderately obese... {Well at least it wasn't Morbidly yet} he agrees with my Chiro's assessment. Permanently Partially disabled. With a recommendation that I shouldn't have a job that keeps me on my feet for more than 20 or 30 minutes. I actually can't stand that long. I tried to rake up the winter driveway stuff I mentioned in yesterdays post. All I could manage was to rake it into piles in one area that needed it. I guess that will have to move over to Cindy's to do list. Her list is quite a bit longer than mine.

Now wait a minute. How can this  happen? I can't even get 4 or 5 numbers right. The most I've ever had on one ticket is 3 numbers. I know I probably shouldn't play the lottery at all. I wouldn't,however it's my retirement plan. The other one I had going didn't work out to well, if you know what I mean? Am I good at digging up useless information or what? Hell maybe I could be a writer for one of these Liberal rags.Speaking of Liberal rags and useless information. I wonder how Stan is doing?

Have you noticed how they say gas is going to stay cheap for the summer? The are calling $2.35 a gal cheap. Heck cheap to me would be $0.35 cents a gal. The last time it was that cheap was in 1958. Those were the good ole days weren't they? I must just be a dinosaur. I'm from the day when being gay meant being happy. Now it means getting married. Oops did I say that out loud? Yeah our Governor is going to propose legalizing gay marriage. I think the best answer to this is what I read in one of the comments on a news article about this in our local paper, where someone said "let them get married, there's no reason why they shouldn't suffer like the rest of us". That will teach them. You have to be careful for what you ask for.

Justa lazy Tuesday

Well it's Tuesday and the delivery men have come and gone with the new Washer and Dryer. They did a very professional in and out no muss no fuss delivery. Cindy stayed home to supervise me supervise them in bringing it in. All went well. She's even done a test load of clothes already. It was kind of cool to see them bring the old machines out and the new ones in. I would have thought they would use carts which I was wondering how that would work with the distance they would have to cover. Well they didn't use carts they had a strap system that two of them used to just walk the machines in and out. It was a lot better than using  the cart and squeezing through tight places and getting tire marks all over the rugs and floors. Cindy and I were quite impressed with the operation. We we're like the Clampetts standing there watching them go back and forth with out exerting a whole lot of effort in the process. No banging in to the walls or anything. I told the guy we didn't get out much. So this was pretty much entertainment for us.  I guess in retrospect Cindy didn't have to stay home to supervise me. I did get a free breakfast out of it. Before going into work she made me a nice breakfast.

I stopped in yesterday and got my new glasses. It is really weird trying to get used to them. In fact as I type this I had to just go to my Wally world reading glasses. It's easier to see with these. I'm going to have to get used to the other ones. I didn't give the last pair I had a very good chance at working. I'll have to be more diligent about getting used to these.

It looks like the snow might finally be done here on the east coast. Knock on wood. I'm going to have to get out there this weekend and try to rake up some of the yard around the driveway where the plow dug up the ground. I've been waiting just to be sure the snow was really done. Watch out, We'll probably get hit with a major snow storm on Monday. It would figure. Cindy just took her snows off. I haven't taken mine off the car yet. That reminds me. That's something I'll have to do.

Money Fun Fact
After paying nearly 24 years on your 30 year home mortgage, you will still owe over 50% of the amount you borrowed.
Save Money at SavingAdvice.com Now isn't that comforting? It's pretty mind numbing to think how much money we pay in interest isn't it?

Justa nother Saturday

It's 4:00 am Saturday morning as I start typing this. All is well with the World. The Yankees are 2-2 now. After dropping their first two games to start the season, they have won the last two. My fear of them going 0-162 is over now. Actually I'm surprised I'm so interested in the games this early in the year. I usually don't start paying attention until after the all star game. It does at least give me something to look forward to doing everyday, keeping track of how they're doing as compared to others in the league.

I took Momma's car to the dealer yesterday for an oil change and some of that 30,000 mile fluid changes and stuff that you just "have" to do. $317.71 and 4 1/2 hours later I limped out of the dealer. I say limped because the dealer is at a huge auto mall that was a converted from a regular ole shopping mall. It's a pretty big place and I must have walked around it 3 times just trying to kill time. It did a number on my lower back and leg. I'm not whining though. It did feel good to get out of the house for a while.

I went to Len's last night (my social worker) discussed some things related to identifying myself as something beyond a Truck driver. It's something I'm struggling with after 27 years of doing something. I know I'll eventually come out the other side and find something else to grab onto. It's just taking more time than I would like. My physical limitations are VERY frustrating and I'm not dealing well with that at all.

Ok. It's 5:45 pm as I finish this post. We went to our regular breakfast with Shawn & Pat. Came home for a while and called the dealer where the car was fixed at yesterday. A warning light for low tire pressure wouldn't go out so we had to stop in and have them check it out. 60 something miles round trip later and 11/2 hrs more hanging out. After that we went to the laundry and washed the clothes as I mentioned earlier the washer had broken. Then on to the grocery store and home. Do we lead an exciting life or what?

We're going to run over to Jeff & Amanda's and drop off Brandon's Easter basket in a little while. Then stop off and top off our exciting day with a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee.

My Ny Yankees!

image I took this picture off of the traffic land.com website. I'm just wondering how they got my picture. That's about how my belly is looking right now. TMI huh? What did you expect a necked picture of George Clooney or somthin? Seriously, I have jeans like that that fit about the same as this guys. Lol! I don't have a shirt like that so it must not be me after all.

I'm going to try to remember to go to my Chiro today, wish me luck. It what bugs me so much about missing the appointment{besides the fact that it looked like 4/16} is the fact that he and I were talking about people missing their appointments  without calling in about 3 visits ago.

My Ny Yankees didn't get off to a quick start this week. The pitcher they paid 161 million $$ for stunk up the joint in his first game. I guess we're not going to go 162-0 now. This is my favorite time of the year for sports. The NCAA basketball is just ending, Baseball is just starting, and the big Golf tournaments are coming around. I'm reduced to just watching them instead of playing them. It gives me something to look forward to anyway. I'll take anything that will get me out of the funk I've been in. It doesn't help much that winter is hanging on with a vengeance. There is snow on the ground and flurries in the air right now. I think it's in the 30's right now. That's 15 degrees below normal for this time of year.

I think I'll take one of my new prescriptions from yesterdays post and watch some tv. Hell, I should be able to find some talking head on telling me how great I've got it now that Nobama is back in our country.

There is a pill for everything!

image This picture is for my blogging buddies that keep track of the Pharma companies. Is this a new pill marketed by Astra Zeneca? Are we supposed to take one in the morning? Or do we take it at night after a long day? The way I've been feeling lately I think I'll take it intravenously. I have figured out a way to make your medicine last longer... I have been forgetting mine quite a bit lately{Yep I have those pill boxes} I just forget to take them.

image Now there's an optimist!! I tend to not take on the big task like this.Heck even the little ones lately seem like big task. I've gotten to where I sleep about 4 or 5 hours at night with no problem now. The problem is I'm needing to take about an hour nap in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I guess about the only job I'll be able to get will be a mattress tester at a furniture factory. I wonder what country I'll have to move to to get that one. I've already gained back the six lbs I lost. I guess it doesn't work if you eat more calories in a day that you need to then don't exercise. I'm just not able to go to the gym. Physically or mentally. Speaking of mental. I didn't make it to my Chiropractor appointment yesterday. I had put the appointment on my calendar for 4/16 instead of yesterday which was 4/6. The way it was written it looked like it was for the 16th. The girl from the Chiro called me last night telling me I missed my appointment. Man is that embarrassing. I've got a new one for Wednesday. Wish me well. The mind is a terrible thing to waste. Maybe I'll go fill that prescription for my new medicine I mentioned above.

We're going to Stimulate the Economy today

It's Sunday morning. I'm feeling much better, thanks for asking. Momma is in the other room practicing for the song she's singing in church this morning. She's singing as part of trio. There has to be angels because to hear Cindy sing must be what an Angel sounds like.

We we're party animals yesterday. We went to a friends 21st birthday party. Happy birthday Tony! It's an Italian family so there was Ziti and lots of other food. The Ziti was delicious with meat balls and sausage on the side mmmmm... I'm sure with the amount that I ate that that's where it's going to end up is "on my side". I had more than my share. I had one bottle of wine cooler. It tasted like Kool aid I could see how you could get over served. It has been months since I had anything at all but one didn't effect me really.  Sandy's mother was there. She has 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren she sure is spunky. Tomorrow she's going to be jumping in a van and riding out to Missouri, she's an amazing lady with a great attitude.

We get to be Grandma and Grandpa again today. Jeff and Amanda are going to go out to lunch together. It's really neat to be Grandparents. Speaking of that. I talked to my daughter Adrianne yesterday. She's doing pretty good with her pregnancy. She told me she is still getting sick every day though. She has a good attitude about it though. I would be doing some major whining. She's about 15 weeks along. In another couple of weeks they can find out if it's a boy or a girl.

image

We are leaving in a while to go buy a new washer and dryer. The dryer still works but the washer won't spin all the way to rinse off the clothes. We've had them for 19 years I guess maybe they don't owe us anything. We'll probably just go to Home Depot and get it. We have the money in savings to get it but they have a 12 month no payment no interest plan there why take the money out of savings. No telling what else will come up.  Hey we're going to try to do our part to stimulate the economy. The picture is a combo they have on sale. I think we'll just settle for the simple plain ole white top load ones like the ones we have now.

Edit: Cindy just got back from church she said it went very well. We're going to grab some lunch and go spend some money. I hope you all have a great Sunday. Keep in touch.

PS. I've lost  6 lbs since I've started keeping track of what I'm eating a little better. It's not because I'm exercising because I haven't been to the gym in a while.

I think they are even! What do you think?

A man and a woman who had never met before, but who were both married to other people, found themselves assigned to the same sleeping room on a Trans-continental train.

Though initially embarrassed and uneasy over sharing a room,
They were both very tired and fell asleep quickly, he in the upper berth and she in the lower.
At 1:00 AM, the man leaned down and gently woke the woman saying,.......... 'Ma'am,
I'm sorry to bother you, but would you be willing to reach into the closet to get me a second blanket?
I'm awfully cold.'
'I have a better idea,' she replied 'Just for tonight,...... let's pretend that we're married.'
'Wow!...................... That's a great idea!', he exclaimed.
'Good,' she replied. .............'Get your own friggin' blanket.'
After a moment of silence, ......................he farted.
The end.

I'm still Alive!

Money Fun Fact
It is three times more likely for a person driving 10 miles to purchase a Lotto ticket to be killed in a car accident than to win the jackpot.Source: motherjones.com
Save Money at SavingAdvice.com    So the moral to this story is to walk to get your lotto ticket.

I'm feeling a little better finally. I'm still not 100%. I  feel well enough to get on here and update on a few issues. I did have a job offer yesterday. I had a guy that owns 6 trucks call me and ask If I wanted a job driving mostly around Ny State. There would be one run a week down to Long Island. It was tempting to take it. But I called him this morning after thinking about it over night. I just don't think I could take the climbing in and out of the truck and the having to use a clutch all day. It's a 10 speed transmission and that would be a lot of clutching. The reality of my situation is that I'm going to have to do something different than drive a Tractor Trailer. I could handle a van driving job I think. Those aren't a dime a dozen right now, with the economy the way it is. I think the bottom line is I'm going to wait until I settle with Workmen's Comp then figure out what to do employment wise.

I just talked to my sis. Here Husband Steve is doing pretty good after his surgery. She said they are quite pleased with the progress. It hasn't gone as bad as it could have I guess. So that's some good news. I haven't talked to my little Girlie{Hey she's 27 but she'll always be my little girlie} in a few days. Last time I talked to her every thing was going pretty good with her pregnancy. She is still getting nauseous every day though.

That's about it for now. I ain't got enough energy to whine about politics right now. What is there new to say about anything any way. They are going to do what they want to no matter what we say so... In closing I want to link to Cindy's post  she was nice enough to do an exercise post so you can check it out here. It will get you loosened up to start the day.

A Quickie!

Yeah I knew that would get your attention. You dirty minded people. That seems to be the ones I attract. Lol!  I'm under the weather. My turn for the bug or something. Haven't gone to the gym in the last few days. Last time I went I hurt myself pretty good by upping my walk to 20 minutes. I'm going to have to stick to riding the Stationary bike for  a while I guess.

Hey Imus!!

image  I got this picture from Cindy's post. It's one of the many neat ones that we have of the pets. I don't know if Indy is laughing at one of Imus's jokes or if he's saying. "Hey Imus, look down my throat and see if you see any white spots". I can't believe how much joy I get from watching the animals and seeing how much unconditional love they bring to the table.

I just got back from the gym. Yep it's hard to motivate to go, but Momma's going so I'm motivated by her until I can get my own. I walked for 10 min and biked for another 10 min. I'm going to slowly build that up to about an hour work out. Right now my hip and knee are throbbing pretty good but not to the point of not wanting to push past the pain. I left Cindy there she was still walking on the treadmill when I left. I came home to get my shower rather than use the locker room. Heck we only live 5 minutes away.

Update on my Brother In Law Steve is, that him and My Sister got home Monday and he seems to be doing better. He made it all the way home without having to stop so that's a good thing. I'm seriously considering going down to Elmira, Ny to see my mother tomorrow so maybe I'll get a chance to stop in and see them for a little while.

Speaking of Elmira, Ny. They have a hot dog  greasy spoon kind of place named M&M  right downtown that has to die for Hamburger meat sauce that goes on Hot dogs that you will ever taste. I'm going to bring some back for my buddy Shawn and his wife. Of course I'll get me a supply too. I only mentioned food because I just figured I'd pay Precious back for mentioning food on her last blog post. My mouth is already watering just thinking about it.

A work out video

I went to the Gym for my second day in a row. Hurah! For those of you that can't get out I found this video that you could work out to. I'm going to use it on days I don't or can't go to the gym.

Some updates

Well I haven't gotten to the gym yet. That damn tomorrow sure is taking a long time to get here. I have lost 3 lbs though. See I told you I lose weight quick. If any of you are looking for an excuse to not walk or workout or something, just email me. I have a list all saved up in my head. I really do want to get into a routine of going to the gym and it will happen soon, I'm only half way through the list of excuses why I haven't yet. Hey some of them are good ones.

Cindy and I went to the hospital here in Syracuse to see a friend that was in for some minor female surgery.{Don't ask don't tell policy in force on this one}. The walk from the garage to the floor she was on and back to the garage was a pretty long one so I'm counting that as my walk. (Hey it's only cheating if you get caught) That little bit of walking is burning my hip pretty good,so I can just see what it's going to be like when I'm done running through my list of excuses.

My brother in law is still in the hospital in Rochester, Ny. I talked to my sister just a few minutes ago and he may go home tomorrow. They are going to introduce a little more food into him and see how that goes. My sister has been up there a week with him so I'm sure it will feel  good for them to get back home.

The Syracuse Orangemen are back on the basketball court today at 12:15.I'm going to sit down and enjoy the game. Does that count as going to church? Cindy is leaving pretty soon to go to church. It sounds like she is going to be joining the choir. She really enjoys singing and it will be a good outlet for her to do that. We used to go out to Karaoke but haven't done that in a long time. No I never sang. I make Sonjai from American Idol fame a few years back sound like Perry Como. Not that I know what Perry Como sounded like.

Chubby Chubby 2 by 4

image

Well I made the trip to Rochester today. But before I talk about that, I have to mention my Dr appointment. It had been a month since I had been to see him. The only purpose for this appointment was for him to check my weight. I was expected to lose 6 lbs. Welllllll. Not so much. I gained 2 lbs. So that got me another appointment in 6 weeks. He didn't give me a number but I'm going to try for about 15 or 20 lbs. I told him I watched the Biggest Loser on TV last night, but he said that didn't count. Cindy and I have been talking about joining the YMCA which is only about 5 minutes from our house. So we stopped talking about it and went and signed up as soon as Cindy got home from work toady. All you ladies out walking around through hill and dale and deserts have inspired me.

So in the interest of being held accountable and because I  really don't see a reason not to mention my weight. I am kind of bumming that I let it get this high but I did so here it is. 292 lbs on my house scale. That's the one I'll be weighing myself on,so that's the one I'll use. My goal is to get down to 190 wish me luck. I'm hoping to be able to ride the stationary bike and walk on the treadmill. I won't know if I can do it until I really try. So starting tomorrow... I'm not going to do the I lost 1/4 lb today kind of post. I think I'll update that about once a week. Hold me accountable if I don't mention it.

My trip to Rochester was kind of fun. It was nice to get out of the house and out of town. One and a half hours is about the extent of my range. My hip started bothering me by time I got there. It was kind of weird to be out driving amongst the big trucks. I found my self looking at all of the company names on the doors. Like I've said before I miss it a little but not enough to go over the road again, even if I could.

So I get to Rochester. I know where the hospital is because I used to live in Rochester. I had no trouble getting a parking spot. I have a Handicap parking ticket until 2011 so I was able to park on the same level you come in on. The trip up to my brother in laws room was about 1/2 mile. I'm sure it wasn't that but it sure felt like it. It was way over on the other side of the Hospital that you come in on. They have 750 rooms so it's a pretty big place. I got up to his room and realized I had left the cards I had brought for them in the car. My sister walked back down with me to get them. Then I walked back up with her to the room. Then of course I walked back down to leave. So Precious and Stephany if you read this I got my walk in today. Oh ok, enough whimpering. I'm starting to sound like a woman.{I'll pay for that one} My brother in law was looking pretty good for someone that had his colon taken out on Monday. He didn't need a bag so things are pretty good in that department. They are hoping to be out of there by Saturday. I got a picture of My sister Donna and her husband Steve on the upper right on the side bar. They are  Pennsylvanians so cut them some slack.

Sorry about the bigger print. I had to make it this big so I could make the one with my weight as small as it is. Breaking News. We didn't have Pot Pies tonight. Nope we went out to dinner tonight just for something different on a Wednesday. Pot Pie night has been pushed back to Thursday night. Lol!!

M-O-N-D-A-Y Monday

image

I'm not going to beat Ms.Pelosi up today. I just thought this picture was funny. It's just amazing to me the many perks that our "elected" officials get. Anyhow It's Monday and its going to be a great weather day. I stopped by Workforce New York (which is the New name for unemployment) and got my application and decided to come home and fill it out. It was too crowded and would have taken longer than I had today to sit there and wait to be seen. It seems they had some sort of orientation, and the councilors were way backed up. So I will probably return Tuesday. I don't want to go into a major whine but this is not a good time to be looking for a job. Especially since I have a little moniker of "partially disabled" now. It's so damn frustrating to have limitations. My only limitation before was my willingness to go out and bust my butt do what ever it took to get the job done. I don't like to be told I can't do something. However my body is telling me I can't do a lot.

I went to the Chiropractor today. It has been three weeks since my last visit. I can actually say there has been some improvement both of my legs were the same length anyway. Still pretty sore in the left hip where it gets all the action because of my limp. My next appointment is 3 weeks away.

I talked to my Sister today. Her husband Steve had his stomach surgery. It took six hours when they had estimated it would only take three. That must have been a heck of a wait. She said he's doing ok so far. I'm planning on going out there to Rochester,Ny on Wednesday if every thing is still ok. This post is starting to sound like Dear Abby. I'm going to go out and watch Dancing with The Stars. Am I pathetic or what? {that's a rhetorical question}

Sorry no Whining today!

Stephany over on her blog is a one man{woman} wrecking team against big pharma. She has up close and personal experience and has done a lot of individual research on the subject. She's has a no nonsense approach to delivering the information in an in your face attack on Astra Zeneca. Cindy used to work in a Doctor's office years ago and I still have pens from back then. Cindy worked in a really big practice so every day of the week they had lunch provided. Not just once in a while, every DAY. Check out her blog it will be eye opening.

The Orangemen ran into a buzz saw on Saturday night.

Louisville's defense and depth was just too much for us. They just kept up the relentless pressure and it paid off in the important part of the 2nd half. It didn't help that we missed some key layups either. Well we had a good run and it made for a few late nights now on to the NCAA tourney. We should get a pretty good seed. I don't have any illusions about us winning the title but a final 8 or so would be nice. We shall see.

Today's supposed to be a decent day weather wise for a change. Low 50's not quite like Arizona weather but it's a start. Momma's gone off to church and the heathen that I am is playing on the computer. Cindy wants to start a garden this year so now's about the time to start planting. I think we're just going to do tomato's cucumbers, squash and such. I wanted to plant some wacky tobackie buy she said no. Not for my own consumption mind you. I thought I could market myself as a Pharma company and make some money on the side. I'm just trying to do my part to "grow" the economy.

My Sister Donna is heading up to Rochester,Ny today with her husband to get his colon taken out tomorrow. If you have an in with the man behind the curtain please put a good word in for them as it isn't going to be an easy road to go. Those of you that qualify for the 10 word discount on this post can leave now. The Rest of you that stopped by have a day.

Oh Yeah!!!

image

Damn, I'm too old for this stuff. Friday night (My) Syracuse Orangemen won in 6 overtimes. Then on Saturday they had to go one extra period to win again. It has been a fun couple of nights watching the games.I haven't had the endorphins howling like this in a long time. Now they go tonight against Louisville for the tournament championship. It's almost going to be anticlimactic. How can you ask them to dig down one more night and Larry the Cable guy em? We shall see.

I told you the other day I had to go see the WC's employment guy. Let's call him Mike.(only because that's what his name is) Well Mike wants me to start looking for work, which in itself doesn't seem like a bad idea. I've worked for like 42 of my 55 years why should I stop now. I feel like emotionally I'm ready. The last time I tried. The part time van driver job I tried to take didn't go so well. I couldn't take it with the house move, coming down off a pretty extreme manic episode and crashing and burning into a depression that saw me hospitalized twice in a two week period. Good times! Really lousy time to try to go to work, what with half of America out of a job. Well in the mean time. I'm in a mild depression now. {Relative to the last one anyway} but my problem is my hip and leg are bothering me quite a bit. I just can't stand or walk for more than 5 minutes at a time without my hip burning like crazy.I was out pooper scooping the yard the other day and it took about 15 minutes you would think I ran a marathon for the way my hip and lower back were burning when I waddled back into the house. I read of some of you guys walking and I'm envious. Not to the point of wanting to short sheet your bed or anything but... I'm just having a hard time dealing with the physical limitations. It's not just a matter of willing my way through this. I can't drink another cup of coffee or get out and walk around the truck at a rest area to wake up. Just to make that damn appointment at the Grocery warehouse.{At which time I still might sit waiting to back in for 4 hours after my appointment}( but I digress again) I've always had a mental toughness a don't give up kind of spirit. The physical limitations have kicked my butt though. But I shall try again. I think it's time. Hell, my female hormones must be kicking in, I'm starting to sound like I have PMS or something.

So Mike (can I call you mike) has 3 pieces of paper with a potential job on each one. The first one he shows me is for a part time sales job which is a sales job (high pressure) at East Coast resorts, which is a camp ground membership sales gig. How do I know they are high pressure you ask? Because Cindy and I are members there and were lucky to get out of there by the hair on our chiny chin chins when we bought (got suckered) into our membership. So I told Mike I wouldn't work there even if they paid me a million dollars a week. Mike, I've reconsidered if you can get them to pay me that I'll go to work for them for a month. That ought to set me up pretty good. If that happens my friend (yeah that's right only one) and family will be getting a call. Not to offer them any money, but to buy into the camp ground. The second job he had to show me was for working on an assembly line putting together things like jewelry and such. I'm about as dexterous as Nancy Pelosi in a truth telling seminar. It just taint happening. The third and last one was for being a Census taker for the up coming census. I figured I could do this. I would get a break driving between each house because out where I live the houses are spread out a little so I would have to drive to get there giving the ole hip/leg a a break. Well I called the number on the paper he gave me. After being connected to a real live person (after pressing one for English) and he told me they had enough people in my area right now to check back in the fall. Yeah right me and the other 10,000 people in the greater Syracuse area looking for work.So to make this really long post come to an end. I'm going to go down Monday and sign up down at the Unemployment office in Fulton. We shall see. For those of you that read this whole post and wish to leave a comment you'll get a ten word discount on my next post if you mention the code word (Whiner). See ya!

Why?

image

I'm trying to conjure up a post. I just don't feel very motivated to even try today. How do you make "I'm watching TV,taking the dog out to go potty, and playing on the computer" very interesting? See even you don't have an idea do you? I have an appointment with the employment counselor hired by the Workman's Compensation Insurance carrier tomorrow at 11:00. I've already let him know that I'm pretty limited to what I can do. I can't stand for more that 5 min. and walking very far is out of the question. Hell maybe I can get a job in Government. I can move paper from one side of the desk to the other every once in a while. I'll have to hold out for a good computer on my desk so I can get online while I'm at work. Momma and I are going to go to lunch after my appointment. Besides that I don't have much else going on. Oh wait!! Tonight was Pot Pie night. MMMMM good. As some of you already know, they aren't homemade but they're still pretty good.

I'll close with this little bit of wisdom from my favorite words of wisdom web site.

Money Fun Fact
Presidents George Washington and John Adams had to employ protection money - paying off certain pirates in the Mediterranean Sea with a couple of million dollars - while Congress debated the creation of a U.S. navy.Source: absolutetrivia.com
Save Money at SavingAdvice.com      See things haven't changed much. We're still paying off certain Pirates we just call them Congressmen now.

Honest Abe

"So I said to him,Barack,I know Abe Lincoln, and you ain't him."

Artist: Andy Thomas

Ya know I've been thinking some lately. I know. No I didn't hurt myself. Everybody likes to rail on the rich and say that they are greedy and money grabbing. To some degree some of the rich have been. For those that have built up their business in the U.S. taken it somewhere else because they could save money on taxes or more so to save in labor cost. I say pox on there houses. But another way to look at it is.

We as a people work for someone else as a rule. {Well if your not laid off right now anyway} We depend on them for our income. Which we then turn into Rent, food and the other necessities of life. So what I'm  trying to say is we gave our right for self determination as it relates to income to someone else. We're at the whim and fancy of "the man''. I've posted on it before a while back, back in the good ole days, 90% of America worked for themselves. So maybe it's time we got back to those days. I know many of us probably can't or just don't want to take the chance on self employment because it seems risky.

The more people that get laid off the worse it's going to get. What's the Government going to do when the top income workers that pay the taxes are broke?  Where are  they going to get the money for all the Social Programs they want to ramp up? The unemployment rate right now is 8.1%. But there is a hidden under employed market with many people working part time because that's all they can get, that brings this number up quite a bit higher. Is there something you know how to do that you could do for yourself in your own business?

In the back of my mind I'm keeping open the possibility of maybe getting into expediting down the road. I think it's something I could do physically but I'm not sure. It's fun to dream about it though. Here is a link to a site about expediting that I go to all the time. Now isn't the time to do this as the loads just aren't there. If you read through the forums on this site you can get a taste for just how bad it is. Some people are sitting around days for loads after getting empty.Of course any possibility of doing it at all  would  depend on Momma wanting to go with me, which probably ain't going to happen any time soon as she really likes her job and all. But like the Ny lottery always says. "Hey you never know". There's justa something that gets in you when you've done that kind of thing for a living that is hard to get out of your system.

So I'm going to close with this little bit of wisdom. For years we've been like frogs sitting in the pot. It was great while the water was comfortable we just sort of hung around and enjoyed. Well as the water started getting warmer and some of our buddies started either getting plucked out or jumped out while the getting was good, we said to our selves ah good more room for me. But now that the water is boiling and they're coming after us it's a different story isn't it? Our way of life is slowing eroding around us.Any ideas what we can do to stop it?

Sunday, March 8, 2009

Oh really?

There has been a clamoring out there for me to do another post. Ok,not clamoring. 1 person mentioned it casually. I justa haven't felt the drivel that I had meandering through my mind was worthy of a post. You know I had beaten this dead horse for all it was worth. It was time to move on to some new subjects.  I fully intend to do that. But first. I was at a new blog I happened across that describes me pretty well in it's name You really should check it out here. I'm quite shocked really I wouldn't believe it had I not seen it myself. He has a picture of one of the regular readers of this blog in the link here. I  wasn't going to  link to it... in the interest of full discloser and to let everyone that is planning on taking the trip to Cancun with us, I wanted to let you see a recent photo of her. I'm not going to out this person by name. You know who you are. It doesn't make me think any less of you really. If the truth be known I really wouldn't mind sharing adjoining rooms.  Ahem...

Now on to my promise. If any of you read Momma's blog post recently the beast has moved on to his reward. It's amazing how the death of a pet can have such a profound effect on you. I mean,it's not as if I played with the damn bird every day. He was a parakeet for crying out loud. But the last few days of watching him struggle to get up on the rail to feed him self and just sit in the corner of the cage, were just really painful to watch. He had the name Beast for a reason. He was one tough hombre. I wish I had half the gonads that he did. He led a full live and went down swinging. I realize now how much of a pansy I have become. I used to perceiver no matter what. Now I'm into full whine mode.

I continue to have this cloud of depression over me. It's like that rain cloud that follows Linus all the time. It's been around for like a month now and seems to be inching ever lower. My ability to get irritated is on high alert. It's like at a drop of a hat I can get aggravated. Good thing I'm on Wellbutrin. My Quack (did I say that out loud?) wanted to know if I wanted him to add something else for a while. They are so quick to just throw pills at you. I told him I thought I would be ok. I'd let him know if I needed anything else. It's amazing though isn't it. Heck, I could have just said yeah doc I'll take some of this, some of that... It's weird they always ask if I am feeling suicidal. I know,I know it's their job. I must project this look that prompts it. So in the interest of full disclosure "I am not suicidal" Although I haven't read Stan's latest comment yet.

I'll close with a fun thing. Our blogging buddy Ana from Brazil has a neat little Geography tester there on her site. Check it out. It will test ya a little bit. I drove all over most of North America in my driving career so that helped me a little. Ana hasn't said rather she's coming on the trip to Cancun yet.
